Data on historical methods of Satan(?)

LOW LEVEL THEOLOGY-SCIENCE (Scuse my soapbox)

SOME DATA FROM THE BOOK OF GENESIS:

Ages of descendants of Adam follow an intersting pattern. There appears to be a "close to 1000" year life span era, including Methusela and ending with Noah, followed by a "close to 500" year era to Peleg, then a close to 250" year life span which degrades(?) down sort of slowly. The 1000 year era changes at Noah and the flood. The 500 year era changes with Peleg, "in his days was the earth divided [Genesis 10 and I Chronicles]". Traditionally, this has meant the scattering of people of the earth after the tower of Babel, but in light of the modern idea of the breakup of the supercontinent, perhaps the idea should be reconsidered.

The almost exact halving of the life spans seems a little too improbably neat for me to feel comfortable, but what then what the heck.

CHARACTERISTICS OF SATAN (?)
Nominal Characteristics of Satan as listed in various parts of the bible: (note: I really don't view Satan in exactly the popular way. There are some things which suggest that he may be as evil as is popularly believed but because I don't understand his exact nature, I prefer to reserve comment) 1. destroyer 2. liar 3. murderer 4. anti-semetic 5. anti-"seed of the woman" 6. accuser Also there are recurring themes and temptations recorded. For instance, in the garden of Eden, the serpent stated that Eve would not die if she ate of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, and that she and Adam would be like gods. Which I take as an example of man-godism. There are also other temptations, and methods of attack which have been historically used, sometimes repeatedly. Also there are some new approaches. But nevertheless, it seems worthwhile to remember the classics.
